Coaching History

Brody Bush brings nearly 40 years of experience to the table.  He currently coaches at Bishop Shanahan High School as well as Dawgs Lacrosse Club (and pretty much most of his children's sports).  At Shanahan, he has enjoyed taking on the rolls of co-offensive coordinator, face-off coach, and box coach.

Prior to this, he coached 2009-2024 at Conestoga High School as both the head boys varsity lacrosse coach and the offensive coordinator.  In that time, he helped take Conestoga to 7 state title games and helped make Conestoga nationally known and ranked #1 in the country.  He held a coaching record of 146 wins and 62 losses or a 70% winning average in 10 seasons as head coach.  This ranks him #32 among coaches in PA lacrosse history.  As program head, Coach Bush sent 23 players to Division 1 schools including Virginia, Duke, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Michigan, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Hobart, Marquett, and others.  Coach Bush also sent 35 players to Division 3 schools.  He led the team to 4 Central League Championships, 2 District 1 Championships, and 2 PIAA AAA State Championship Runner-Ups.

Before Conestoga, Coach Bush coached at Rutgers, Williams College, Immaculata and both Downingtown and Marple Newtown High Schools.  Coach Bush also coached the 2016 Underclassman Under Armour Team that won the championship for Philly.

Playing History

In his playing days, Coach Bush was a 4-year starter at Rutgers University and is the 8th all-time assist leader with 101 in school history.  In 1999 he was a North/South Selection as well as Team Captain. Coach Bush was also on the USA National U19 Team that won the gold medal in 1996 in Japan.  Coach Bush played at Penncrest High School and was an All-American in 1995 and the Central League MVP. He is in the Media Sports Hall of Fame. In 2000 Coach Bush was Selected in the NLL draft in the 4th round (29th overall) for the Philadelphia Wings and played one season on the practice squad.

Personal Life

Off the field, Coach Bush has taught health and physical education at Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School for over 20 years.  He lives in Downingtown with his wife Michele, their two little laxers Teegan (who is a lefty long pole and has zero interest in playing attack like his dad) and Briley, and their two crazy labs Reese and Rolls.  It is currently undecided if his daughter Briley or his puppy Reese are his most spoiled princess.

Why Brick Wall Lax

The name Brick Wall Lax was inspired by the brick wall Brody used every day to play wall ball while growing up to hone his lacrosse skills. The legendary Coach Tony Seamen (UPenn, Johns Hopkins, Townson) recommended that Brody use the wall to catch 100 righty and 100 lefty every day.  He likes to remind his kids this was in the 90s before bounce back nets (which clearly made it harder).  The rest, as they say, is history.
